  • RELEVANT DIPLOMA FROM HIGHEST EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION
    or
  • PhD or MSc in WELDIN ENGINEERING or WELDING TECHNOLOGY or MATERIALS METALLURGY

 

1. Relevant Diploma Achievεment - Traditional Route (IWE)

Minimum Professional Training

  • Module 1 Welding processes and equipment:
    90 hours
  • Module 2 Materials and their behaviour during welding:
    115 hours
  • Module 3 Construction and design:
    62 hours
  • Module 4 Fabrication, applications engineering:
    114 hours
  • Practical Training:
    60 hours
  • Overall:
    441 h
    ours 

 Examination Required for Personnel Qualification

  • Module 1 Welding processes and equipment:
    1 written exam
  • Module 2 Materials and their behaviour during welding:
    1 written exam
  • Module 3 Construction and design:
    1 written exam
  • Module 4 Fabrication, applications engineering:
    1 written exam
  • 1 Oral exam

2. TRANSITION ARANGEMENTS - Alternative Qualification Route (IWE)

Prerequisites:

PhD or MSc in Welding Engineering
  or Welding Technology
  or Materials Metallurgy

The person who applies for IWE/EWE Diploma under Transition Arrangements must comply with the following conditions:

  1. Fulfill approved IWE access conditions for Greece
  2. A PhD or MSc in Welding Engineering or Welding Technology or Materials Metallurgy
  3. Verifiable continuous working experience in Welding Engineering or Welding Inspection or Quality Assurance of metallic constructions, the last ten (10) years
  4. Verification by the ANB of the knowledge required for E/IWE content of relevant Guideline by means of a professional interview and/or oral examination

  • Examination by Transition Arrangement Committee
