Welding Greek Institute in exclusive cooperation with AMPP – Association for Material Protection and Performance (created by merged NACE & SSPC – Society for Protective Coating in 2021), organizes Training and Certification programs for Protective Coating Inspectors.

The recently revised AMPP Coatings Inspector program is the result of more than 30 years of NACE and SSPC inspection certification. The new curriculum is more extensive and continues to provide a solid foundation that strengthens industry inspectors and their practices by combining classroom study, discussion and hands-on practice.
The courses, conducted in English, are designed to help the Candidate to start or enhance his/her career in protective coatings for a variety of components (pipelines, storage tanks, basic infrastructure and others). Candidates may be:
- Coating inspectors.
- Coating Applicators.
- Specification Writers, Company Representatives and Technical Sales Representatives.
Basic Coatings Inspector / CIP Level 1 Certification
Completion of the Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level 1 / Level 1 training is the first step towards obtaining the Basic Coatings Inspector certification.
CIP Level 1 courses provide entry-level knowledge of coating materials, surface preparation and application techniques, and inspection testing and documentation

After successfully obtaining the Basic Coatings Inspector certification, you will be able to perform basic coatings inspections on steel surfaces using Non-Destructive Testing and Instrumentation.
It is addressed to:
- Project managers, supervisors, foremen and engineers.
- Maintenance and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) staff.
- Contractors and Specification Writers.
- Coating material manufacturers and technical sales representatives.
- Manufacturers and welders.
- Paint and other coatings applicators.
Certified Coatings Inspector / Πιστοποίηση CIP Level 2
Completion of the Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level 2 / Level 2 training is the first step towards obtaining the Certified Coatings Inspector certification.
The CIP Level 2 courses provide relevant guidance on documenting and performing Non-Destructive and Destructive Testing, as well as inspecting different surfaces and non-wet coatings.

A Certified Coatings Inspector may conduct coatings inspections on any surface using Non-Destructive and Destructive tests for wet and non-destructive coatings under the indirect supervision of a Senior Certified Coatings Inspector.
Basic Coatings Inspector / CIP Level 1 Certification is required to participate in the program.
