{"id":2007,"date":"2025-09-12T08:21:21","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T08:21:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wgi.gr\/?page_id=2007"},"modified":"2025-09-12T08:21:29","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T08:21:29","slug":"iwe-distance-blended-learning","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wgi.gr\/en\/iwe-distance-blended-learning\/","title":{"rendered":"IWE Distance | Blended Learning"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">IWE Distance | Blended Learning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>International Welding Engineer (IWE) \u2013 Distance \/ Blended Learning Training<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WGI is the Authorized Nominated Body (ANB) of the <strong>International Institute of Welding (IIW)<\/strong> and the <strong>European Welding Federation (EWF)<\/strong> in Greece.<br>Our mission is to promote new technologies and best practices in welding, as well as to provide training and certification of welding personnel based on international standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>International Welding Engineer (IWE)<\/strong> program is designed to equip professionals with advanced knowledge, skills, and competencies in welding coordination, in compliance with <strong>ISO 14731<\/strong> and the IIW\/EWF guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Course Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program combines theoretical and practical training and includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Module 1:<\/strong> Welding Processes and Equipment \u2013 95 hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Module 2:<\/strong> Materials and Their Behavior During Welding \u2013 115 hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Module 3:<\/strong> Construction and Design \u2013 62 hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Module 4:<\/strong> Fabrication and Application Engineering \u2013 116 hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Practice:<\/strong> 60 hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Total duration: 448 training hours<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program is delivered through <strong>Distance | Blended Learning<\/strong>, which includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Online training via the <strong>MOODLE platform<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Virtual Classrooms (interactive lessons via <strong>ZOOM<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-person practical training at WGI facilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon completion of the training modules, participants take <strong>written examinations per module<\/strong> and a <strong>final oral examination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Training Schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program is flexible, combining asynchronous learning (MOODLE), live online classes, and face-to-face practice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Distance Training \u2013 Part 1<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>94 hours, completed within 5 weeks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluation test (90 minutes)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Distance Training \u2013 Part 3<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Section 1: 117 hours in 6 weeks + exam (120 minutes)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Section 2: 34 hours in 2 weeks + exam (30 minutes)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Virtual Classroom (ZOOM)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>85 hours over 4 weeks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>In-Person Training (WGI Facilities, Elefsina)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>118 hours, duration 15\u201320 days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Examinations<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4 written exams (90 multiple-choice questions each)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final oral examination<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Requirement: Average score \u226565% across written exams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fees &amp; Career Prospects<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon successful completion of the program and examinations, participants are awarded the <strong>International Welding Engineer (IWE) diploma<\/strong>, recognized worldwide by the IIW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This diploma fully satisfies the requirements of <strong>EN ISO 3834<\/strong> and is a mandatory qualification under <strong>EN ISO 1090<\/strong>, which is part of national legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holders of the IWE diploma are authorized to sign studies, <strong>WPS, WPQR<\/strong>, and to coordinate welding operations in metal structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location &amp;
