It is intended for professionals with extensive experience and advanced technical knowledge in the <strong>design, installation, and management of cathodic protection (CP) systems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Course Content<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Design, Factors, Calculations, Properties, and Materials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transmission and Other Pipelines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Marine and Offshore Applications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tanks and Well Casings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water Tanks, Surface Condensers, and Thickeners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Steel Reinforcement in Concrete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The course and certification program cover the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Theory &amp; Analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fundamental and advanced principles of cathodic protection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CP design principles for different structures (pipelines, tanks, onshore\/offshore facilities)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Factors affecting CP design (environment, materials, coatings)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consolidated design calculations (e.g. attenuation calculations)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Practical Training &amp; Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Practical design examples<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluation of cathodic protection systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Data analysis and troubleshooting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International standards and best practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Training Format<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training consists mainly of <strong>lectures, classroom discussions, and hands-on calculation exercises<\/strong> applied to various structures (e.g. pipelines, tanks, offshore installations).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>CP4 Specialist training<\/strong> has a duration of <strong>5 days<\/strong>, from <strong>08:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.<\/strong>, and is conducted <strong>in English<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To obtain the <strong>CP4 certification<\/strong>, candidates must meet the requirements for <strong>work experience, education, successful examination<\/strong>, and submit a formal application according to <strong>one of the following options<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Option 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in physical sciences or engineering<br><strong>and<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6 years of documented experience in advanced cathodic protection, including <strong>4 years in responsible charge<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Option 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 years of post-secondary education in a technical\/scientific field<br><strong>and<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12 years of experience in advanced cathodic protection, including <strong>4 years in responsible charge<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Option 3 (Advanced Track)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s and Master\u2019s degree in physical or engineering sciences<br><strong>and<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Registration as <strong>Engineer-in-Training<\/strong> (or equivalent) or professional engineering license<br><strong>and<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 years of experience in advanced cathodic protection with <strong>4 years in responsible charge<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Completion of lower-level certifications (CP1 \/ CP2 \/ CP3) is <strong>not required<\/strong> in order to obtain CP4 certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examinations &amp; Certification<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>AMPP CP4 certification<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examinations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Theory Exam<\/strong>: ~4 hours, approximately 60 questions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Case-Based Exam<\/strong> (scenario-based questions): ~4 hours, approximately 25 questions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Both examinations are conducted at <strong>Pearson VUE testing centers<\/strong> as <strong>Computer-Based Testing (CBT)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To register, candidates must submit the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Copy of <strong>national ID card or passport<\/strong> (must match Pearson VUE registration details)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Detailed CV<\/strong>, with emphasis on:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cathodic protection projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Role (design \/ installation \/ testing \/ supervision)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Years of experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any <strong>responsible charge<\/strong> experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of <strong>education<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of <strong>professional experience<\/strong> for at least <strong>4 years in responsible charge<\/strong>, such as:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Employer certificates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employment contracts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Letters of employment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Signed employer declarations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Existing <strong>AMPP CP certifications<\/strong>, if applicable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Engineering license \/ Engineer-in-Training registration<\/strong>, if applicable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The CP4 \u2013 Cathodic Protection Specialist is the most advanced cathodic protection certification offered by &#8230;
